School Policies
Hershey School of Dance will open 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day.
Hershey School of Dance places students by ability. Although we do our best to keep "friends" together, our focus is on developing our dancers' potential for advancement.
No gum, food or beverages are allowed in the studios, however, water bottles with secure lids may be used. Cell phones MUST be turned off!
Parents may observe ONLY on designated visiting days in December and March. See calendar for specific dates.
Whenever the Derry Township School District closes early or cancels classes due to inclement weather, HSD will also be closed. Our website will include cancellation announcements.

Absenteeism
Parents and students are reminded that each student attending class on a regular basis achieves the best results. Teachers will notify students regarding alternate classes in which they can make up. Students who consistently miss class or fail to make up classes missed will be demoted to a lower level class at the teacher's discretion.
Our teachers reserve the right to reset choreography based on any students' absenteeism January - April.

Injury Policy
Teachers of Hershey School of Dance have the right to verbally and physically correct a student's body alignment to the best of their ability and within the student's physical capabilities.
If a student is absent from classes due to an injury (sustained at the studio or not) for more than two weeks, it will be at the teacher's discretion whether or not they may return to class at the level they were assigned prior to the injury.
Following an injury, no dancer will be allowed to participate in class (they may sit and watch) until the school's director receives a signed note from the student's healthcare provider stating the dancer has permission to return to their regular physical activities. Extended periods of absence or inability to participate may result in the student being withdrawn from classes for the remainder of the year.
All teachers will inform the school's director of any injuries that take place in their class and all further communication will be between the Director and the parent(s) of the injured student.
